he Buderim Foundation is one of a growing number of community foundations in Australia. It is a philanthropic, not-for-profit organisation registered under the Commonwealth Corporations Act. It has Deductable Gift Recipient (DGR) status which means donations to the Buderim Foundation can be tax deductable.
The Buderim Foundation was launched by the former Governor General of Australia, Dame Quentin Bryce, AC, CVO, on 6 April, 2004.
The Buderim Foundation:
receives donations and bequests – money in
carefully invests the funds to generate income – money managed
distributes the income from the investments as grants to Buderim based community organisations – money out
Currently the Foundation’s corpus stands at almost $2,000,000
The total is invested and, thanks to three very committed sponsors who cover the Foundation’s administration costs, this money is never spent.
Buderim Foundation grants are made from the investment income to organisations and projects that strive to:
Since its launch in 2004, the Foundation has awarded grants of over $277,000 to community organisations and Youth projects, and distributed approximately $120,000 for the Family Support Program.
The Buderim Foundation is a member of Philanthropy Australia and Australian Community Philanthropy and receives support from the Australia-wide Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR). The Foundation itself has received grants from these organisations of over $127,500.
